Imagine beginning the New Year without neck pain, back pain, and sciatica! Can you even imagine a pain free life right now? When I first began this quest, and it has been exactly that, a quest, I really couldn’t imagine what a pain free life could or would be like!
Now?
Well, now I look forward to every day with anticipation, renewed and completely alive for thew first time in years.
Neck Pain, Back Pain, and Sciatica: Overall History
While having had 14 major back surgeries, everything from fusions (plates, screws, screens, the whole deal) and laminectomies, to debridements (several due to osteomyelitis) and the removal of scar tissue impacting the sciatica nerve, a procedure not even considered by most neurologists and ortopedic surgeons today, and much, much more.
The Cervical Spine: Neck Pain
I have compressed vertebrae at C5 and C6 that at times would cause pain in my neck, shouldler, aching and pain in my shoulder and arm, and pain, tingling, and numbness in my hands and fingers.
The Thoracic Spine: Upper and Middle Back Pain
I have a herniated disc, not a bulging disc but actually ruptured, in my thoracic spine at T7-8. Upper back pain is different but no less debilitating and disabling at its worst, and mine felt like everything from my back needing to be “popped” back into place every once and a while to someone stabbing me in the middle of my back, with almost no way to find pain relief! My upper back pain and middle back pain used to be so intense it would bring me to a complete stand still; and, there was little I could do to find pain relief, other than to ice the area, try to get it to “pop” back in (that’s the picture I had of it in my mind, although as a “bone guy” I knew that wasn’t quite accurate, and I am certain some of you can relate to what I mean), and then just take it easy until the ice did its magic. I eventually learned some stretches that helped me too, and I will share those with you over the next month.
My lumbar spine is a mess. And that’s the technical definition!
You know you are in trouble when doctors walk into the examination room after looking at your x-rays and MRIs and just shake their heads. I actually had one guy who was honest as simply said he didn’t want me as a patient, that the whole things was out of his league. When he said that?
Basically?
I felt doomed to a life of back pain!
Everything from T12 to S1 is fused, sometimes more than once. My entire lower back has been shattered, cut, stapled, bolted, screened, srewed (literally and figuratively, as in screwed up!), debrided, and the put back together again.
The overall level of back pain for many years was no lower than a “7″ and often a mind boggling “15″ on a scale of “10!”
I am being facetious, of course.
Here’s a question every person in the world suffering from chronic neck pain, back pain, and or sciatica has asked:
Who in the world thinks you can properly “scale” pain of any kind, much less back pain?
Anyone suffering from chronic neck pain, back pain, and/or sciatica knows that it is impossible to describe pain, much less assign a real number to it. And what is with the Wong-Baker FACES Pain Rating Scale?
I realize it is primarily for children but I have seen it used for adults in many different settings, some integrating a number scale along with it. Let’s see? I am somewhere between a “frown turned upside down and crying, 7-8″ and “a smiley face, 0-1″!
What a bunch of whooey! Another technical term!
Pain is subjective and any attempt to quantify it using such a measure is more than a little simplistic, if you ask me!
OK! If you are still with me, let’s move on to the 30 Day Challenge.
The fact is, most neck pain, back pain, and sciatica is resolved without back surgery. There was a time when “cut first and ask questions later” was the rule, now many orthopedic surgeons are holding off, recognizing there are other, highly-effective neck pain, back pain, and sciatica treatment strategies. Some of the treatment strategies for neck pain, back pain, and sciatica relief are discussed in the video below and many more will be discussed over the next 30 days.
Begin the journey with us, a self-treatment plan of sorts, a step-by-step program for real and lasting pain relief. The complete program will be implemented over the next 30 days. It will be extremely helpful if you begin The Bad Back Guy’s Neck Pain Back Pain and Sciatica Relief Program, the one I use and endorse, the one thousands of others have for real and lasting pain relief.
Start today and you will have a pain free holiday season and begin the New Year with neck pain, back pain, and sciatica relief for the first time in years. Join us over the next 30 days as we begin life anew, a pain free life…a life free of neck pain, back pain, and sciatica!
Go to TheBadBackGuy.net and start today…work along with us or jump in when appropriate, the video will explain!
