Permanent Neck Pain, Back Pain, and Sciatica Relief: The Truth About Spinal Cord Stimulators

by coachz5 on October 3, 2009

The biggest mistake I made during my quest for neck pain, back pain, and sciatic nerve pain relief was the spinal cord stimulator!

For pain relief the spinal cord stimulator was a huge disappointment! Before going down this road, please contact me and do your research, there are better methods.

Whether you suffer from neck pain, back pain, sciatica, or some combination of spine-related pain, the spinal cord stimulator may be a huge mistake…as stated, it was for me!

After years of trying anything and everything for my pain, I was desperate. I am sure you have been there, I agreed to the surgery, an implantation of the spinal
cord stimulator, complete with sending unit and leads.

The theory behind the spinal cord stimulator is that the leads, placed above the area where the back pain originates from, will “interrupt” the pain impulses to the brain, thus reducing or eliminating the neck pain, back pain or sciatica.

The end result is supposed to be an improved life, a neck pain, back pain, and/or sciatica free life, or at least a significant reduction in the level of pain. The reality is quite different! Whether neck pain, back pain or sciatica is your complaint, the spinal cord stimulator is nothing more than “white noise!”

The spinal cord stimulator creates an irritating vibration that is supposed to “interrupt” the pain impulses but is, in all actuality, just a very irritating and ineffective distraction. The addition of the vibration on top of the pain actually acts to increase the overall unpleasantness of the entire experience.

Significantly, after implantation, not only do you still have neck pain, back pain and/ or sciatica, you now have an irritating vibration going 24/7…unless you shut it off!

And if it has to be shut off to keep it from irritating you, what is the sense?

As a neck pain, back pain or sciatica relief strategy, the spinal cord stimulator is the worst mistake I have ever made. I hope I can help you with the decision, so you don’t go down the same road! Before deciding on the above course of action for your neck pain, back pain or sciatica…please contact me!
